Marion Walking and Cycling Strategy

Marion, SA
Walking and cycling is widely recognised as being beneficial to our health and wellbeing. Despite this, many of our urban environments are not conducive to walking or cycling. Oxigen worked closely with the Council project team and steering group (including OPAL and DPTI representatives) to develop the City of Marion Walking and Cycling Strategy. The Walking and Cycling Strategy provides a clear direction for improving walking and cycling in the City of Marion. This Strategy contains the “building blocks” for walking and cycling delivery across the City of Marion. The Strategy helps inform future developments, strategic planning decisions and acts as a commitment to embed walking and cycling initiatives into all Council processes, projects and budget considerations. The Walking and Cycling Strategy also contributes to the City of Marion’s ongoing commitment to the Healthy Cities principles of the World Health Organisation.
